Benazir Bhutto

It is just amazing to me that the one animal on this planet that is capable of so much good, is also the one that does so much violent damage to itself; and more often than not -- in the name of imaginary deities! And you must admit, nothing "justifies" murder better than defense of dogmas developed over the centuries by bitter, vitriolic and dysfunctional old men -- yes, MEN! (As far as we know, women remain clear of such a condemnation.)

The crazy "religion du jour" is (at the moment) the one to which most Muslims swear allegiance; but at one time or another each of the others has had the spotlight if you study the history of homo sapiens on this violence-weary and critically ill planet. (The crusades, of course, is another classic example!)

It really doesn't seem that there is much hope for us as a species as long as we remain bent on "holy wars" (How's THAT for a non sequitor?)

Yes Sir! NOTHING can get stupid, gullible, suggestible humans more riled up than when someone tells the idiots among us that "God" has "instructed us" to smite somebody in "His" name!

It is really embarrassing to be a member of such a mentally deficient species. And, for many years I have been saying as a teacher that if we could get rid of just one animal -- just ONE -- on this planet, the earth would be safe forever! Sadly, more often than not, I have had students so clueless that they immediately ask "which animal?"

So, with today's loss of Benazir Bhutto, the mindless morons continue to do the bidding of old men with hatred (and power) in their hearts. And as long as the "love of power" is more intoxicating than the "power of love," our species, and our planet will remain on its current course toward eventual self-destruction!

For most of my adult life, one of my favorite sayings has been, "all things considered, I'd be much happier as a dolphin!" They do not lust for money, power, or eternal salvation!
